One Nevada gubernatorial hopeful sees a speedy fix to Nevada’s budget crisis. Nonpartisan candidate Eugene “Gino” DiSimone believes people would pay for the privilege to drive up to 90 mph on designated highways—and fill the state’s depleted coffers.

After setting up an account, anyone in a hurry could dial in, and for $25 charged to a credit card, be free to speed for 24 hours.

Armed officers and an Army bomb squad uncovered more than 30 firearms during an early-morning raid on the semi-detached house in Worcester.

Local residents watched in disbelief as police carried out guns, rockets, shells, rocket launchers, grenades and ammunition.

The owner of the property, local gun club chairman Graham Lane, 65, was arrested on suspicion of possessing an illegal firearm and bailed.

Neighbours said they had previously seen him wheeling a cannon out of the house.

Mr Lane today insisted the weapons are fully licensed and only used for historical battle re-enactments.

A member of the failed London 21/7 suicide bombing gang threw a tantrum when he came second in a prison sports day egg and spoon race, it has emerged.

Convicted terrorist Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, 37, was competing at the high security Wakefield jail in northwestern England when he was beaten to first place by Rangzieb Ahmed, 34, British newspaper the Sunday Mirror reported.

Ahmed was jailed for masterminding the failed July 21 attacks on the British capital, the report said.

Infuriated by Ahmed’s narrow victory, Asiedu kicked his hard-boiled egg around the exercise yard before stamping on it, according to the newspaper.

Toy guns will have to be licensed

Any item that looks like a gun will have to be licensed under several changes to the Weapons Act being considered by the Queensland State Government.

Even guns made out of materials as unlikely as soap or plastic may have to be kept under lock and key if they could “reasonably be taken to be a weapon”.

An intoxicated man who walked into a bar and sprayed deer urine inside ended up in jail and sent patrons scurrrying for the exit.

Police say 26-year old Joshua Aaron Brunke came inside the In Cahoots bar on Edison Avenue Friday night about 11:30 p.m. and began spraying a foul smelling liquid from a small bottle. Business owner Staci Ybarra says the smell caused other patrons to run for the exit doors, some stampeding each other to get outside.

Brunke told police he got the bottles with the liquid from a friend named “Ricky”. The suspect said he was supposed to get $20 for spraying the deer urine inside the business.

Police arrest two after both claim ownership of 5 foot pot plant

Boston police arrested two people in Dorchester on Thursday night for allegedly growing a five-foot marijuana plant in their back yard.

First-floor resident Joanna Read, 26, allegedly told officers that “she does smoke weed” and later said that the plant was hers, according to the statement.

Another resident, Nadir Khan, 26, later told officers that the plant belonged to him, police said. Khan and Read were both charged with cultivation of a Class D substance.

Man throws a fit, make that a sword, in domestic dispute

Officers responded to Prendergast Ave. in regards to a domestic dispute involving Roger W. Lampman and his wife.

A physical dispute had occurred and Lampman had broken items in the house after assaulting his wife.

Lampman threw a small sword at the front door, smashing the full length tempered glass front.

Now, however, Ms. Cha is an unlikely national celebrity.

This diminutive woman, now known nationwide as “Grandma Cha Sa-soon,” has achieved a record that causes people here to first shake their heads with astonishment and then smile: She failed her driver’s test hundreds of times but never gave up. Finally, she got her license — on her 960th try.
